Rushabh Shah, Docker Captain

Docker, Inc · Selected 2026 · DevOps Engineer @ Oro · Ahmedabad, India

I'm a Docker Captain, selected in 2026 as one of roughly 220 members worldwide in Docker's global program for community leaders and technical experts in the container ecosystem. I'm a DevOps Engineer based in Ahmedabad, India, currently building cloud-native infrastructure on Kubernetes at Oro.

What is a Docker Captain?

Docker Captains are an invitation-only group of experts recognized by Docker, Inc. for deep technical knowledge of containers and the broader container ecosystem, real-world production experience running that technology, and a track record of sharing what they know with the wider community. It isn't a certification you sit an exam for — it's a recognition Docker extends to people already doing that work.

Why I was selected

Docker's own program criteria are technical expertise in containers and Kubernetes, hands-on production experience, and consistent community contribution. In my case, that's backed by:

  • Production experience: running Kubernetes workloads with Helm and GitOps (Argo CD), building CI/CD on GitHub Actions, and managing infrastructure as code with Terraform — across roles at Oro, Genuin, KodeKloud, and Tridhya Tech, including a zero-downtime AWS → Oracle Cloud Infrastructure migration under a fixed deadline and a 59% AWS cost reduction.
  • Community involvement: I organize Grafana & Friends Ahmedabad, a quarterly observability meetup; I represented KodeKloud at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon India 2024; and I translated eBPF.io into Hindi so Hindi-speaking engineers have a way in to eBPF, container networking, and observability.
  • Teaching: I've delivered corporate training on Azure and cloud infrastructure certifications, and I built hands-on multi-cloud lab environments used by working engineers preparing for real certification exams.
