Privacy Policy

Hi. This site is just me, Rushabh. It's a personal website, not a business, so there isn't much to disclose. But you deserve to know exactly what happens when you visit, so here it is.

I count visits, not visitors

I use GoatCounter to see which pages people read. It tells me things like "120 people read this post, mostly from India, mostly on Chrome." It can't tell me who those people were. There are no cookies, no stored IP addresses, no following you around the internet. Some of these numbers are shown right on the site (the little "views" counters).

If you message me, I read it

The contact form sends me your name, email, and message (through a service called Pageclip). I use it to reply to you. That's it. You won't end up on a mailing list, and I don't pass it to anyone. Prefer plain email? [email protected].

The coupon links earn me a commission

My Linux Foundation coupon page has affiliate links. Click one and buy something, and I earn a small commission. You pay nothing extra. To make that work, the store and its affiliate network set a cookie on their site so they know I sent you. My site doesn't set any affiliate cookies itself, and I always label affiliate stuff clearly.

A few files come from other servers

Fonts come from Google, icons from a couple of icon CDNs, my GitHub star counts from GitHub's API. When your browser fetches those files, those servers see your IP address, the same as they would for any website. I don't use any of it to identify you. The site itself is hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps standard server logs.

Want something deleted? Ask

The only personal data I ever hold is correspondence you sent me yourself. If you want it gone, email me at [email protected] and I'll delete it. No forms, no fuss. The analytics can't be traced back to you even if I wanted to, which is the point.

If anything changes

If I ever add something that collects more (a newsletter signup, for example), I'll update this page first and change the date at the top. No silent changes.
