Who this is for
Anyone who touches a cloud bill: finance, engineering, procurement, and product people who need one shared language for cost, usage, and value. It is the default first FinOps certification.
What it covers
- What FinOps is, and the FinOps Framework
- FinOps teams, culture, personas, and motivations
- FinOps domains and capabilities
- Anatomy of the cloud bill, and the data in the path
- The Inform, Optimize, and Operate phases
- Adopting and maturing a FinOps practice
Why it's worth it
FOCP is the one FinOps credential most job descriptions actually name. The real value is not the badge, it is the vocabulary: once your finance team and your platform team both say "allocation", "unit economics" and "showback" to mean the same thing, cost conversations stop being arguments about whose number is right. Everything else in the FinOps catalog assumes you already have this.
Prep tips
- Bring a real bill. Open your own AWS, Azure, or GCP cost console next to the course and map each concept onto spend you actually recognise, because the exam rewards understanding the shape of a bill rather than memorising definitions.
- The Inform, Optimize, Operate loop is the spine of the whole framework and the thing most questions hang off, so get comfortable placing any given activity into the right phase.
- Do not skip the personas material even though it feels soft next to the billing content. A meaningful slice of the exam is about who cares about which metric and why.
How to use the code
- Open the FinOps Certified Practitioner page on learn.finops.org and choose the Self-Paced Course + Certification Exam option.
- Enter
RUSHABH_20in the promo code field and apply it before paying. - Check the total actually dropped by 20%. If it didn't, you've probably selected an exam-only, bundle, or subscription SKU, which this code doesn't cover.
