Why it's worth it

Prep tips

  • Install Cilium on a throwaway cluster and turn Hubble on. Network observability and eBPF are 20% combined, and both make far more sense once you have watched flows rather than read about them.
  • Network policy is 18% and the Cilium model differs from stock Kubernetes NetworkPolicy. Learn both and learn where they diverge.
  • Do not skip cluster mesh and BGP because they are only 16% together. With eight domains, dropping two entirely is most of your margin.
